The American Diabetes Association has published a study online that shows some interesting results regarding the death rates of those with diabetes. The goal of the study was to see if the rate for all causes of death and cardiovascular disease in particular declined between the years 1997 and 2006.

According to the results of the study the death rate for those with cardiovascular complications dropped by an impressive number during the years studied ? a whopping 40%.? Although the results would definitely point to the success of new interventions the picture is not all that rosy as the incidence of diabetes is not dropping.? According to the researchers the more people surviving longer will actually mean there will be a larger number of people in the country suffering from the disease.
